We graciously catered and planned Erin Gable and Justin Ouzts wedding reception that was held in Barnwell, South Carolina. We absolutely loved working with Erin’s mother Robin for her sister’s wedding reception in 2014 and we were delighted to travel to Barnwell again to cater Erin’s wedding reception.
Wedding Date: 6-27-2015
Couple: Erin Gable and Justin Ouzts
Location: Duncannon Plantation, Barnwell, South Carolina
It was a cool day for a July wedding reception at the gorgeous reception site, Duncannon Plantation. Duncannon was built in 1835 by Colonel Billy Duncan and was owned by George Herbert Walker the grandfather of past President George Bush. President Bush spent many Christmas holiday’s in South Carolina at the gorgeous Plantation Home. It was the perfect venue for a beautiful wedding reception.
The wedding reception was elegant and simply southern. The floral arrangements by Carol’s in Barnwell were very elegant by accenting with hues of green and white. The reception site was nestled in acres of unspoiled land and surrounded by moss covered trees. Mrs. Gable decorated the 4,200 square foot home with family antiques with touches of teal amongst the neutral palate of camel colored linens. Mrs. Gable thought of every detail including Erin’s soccer trophies, Justin’s cowboy boots and even matched the teal lining of the gift trunk with the teal antique chair in the parlor. Mrs. Gable thought of every detail and worked very hard in putting the details together. Look at the silver heirloom accessories for the ladies room. The beer canoe was accented with a soccer ball and the claw footed tub filled with bottled waters sat for easy access for the guests.
Applause Catering planned a menu to reflect the southern theme. Our staff tray passed Cornmeal Dusted Fried Green Tomatoes and Bacon Wrapped Quail from Manchester Farms in Sumter. We also served many southern favorites to include Pimiento Cheese, Deviled Eggs, Shrimp and Grits, Crabcakes and we carved a Steamship of Beef. To cool the guests off we served refreshing beverages at the “Hydration Station”. The Hydration Station featured Peach Tea, Cucumber Mint Water, Sangria and Citrus Infused Water.
The band “Alternative Take” played all night long and the rain didn’t keep anyone from dancing. Thank goodness the guests were under a tent from Party Reflections in Columbia, SC. The tent was accented by market lighting, billowy leg drapes and Italian lights in white draping strung behind the band. Lindsey Still’s fantastic banana and red velvet cake gave the guests energy to dance the night away at Duncannon Plantation in South Carolina. Thank you Mrs. Gable for allowing Applause Catering to be a part of your beautiful event.
